OVERVIEW

Coca-Cola values America’s parks as vital assets in fostering an active and healthy lifestyle. Through the America Is Your Park contest, Coca-Cola aimed to motivate consumers to convert their physical activity into votes for their preferred national, state, or local park. The park with the highest number of votes would receive a $100,000 recreation grant from Coca-Cola.

Possible’s creative team was assigned the task of developing a website and mobile app for daily voting on participants’ favorite parks. Alongside the website, the campaign emphasized social sharing by utilizing the #takeittothepark hashtag to foster customer engagement and connectivity.

As a designer on the Coca-Cola’s America is Your Park team, I played a crucial role in creating visually appealing design layouts for various website pages, including the Prelaunch landing page, sharing pages, and leaderboard. I also contributed by designing new icons whenever necessary.

Additionally, I was responsible for building the Press Kit, designing the “Welcome” email, and creating display media.

One notable element of the Press Kit involved participants creating their own customized Tumblr page to promote their chosen park for votes. To maintain campaign consistency, I designed a Tumblr theme that aligned with the campaign’s styling and developed it using HTML and CSS.

RESULTS

The program generated an impressive 359 million impressions, resulting in 1.5 million votes and over 72,000 hours of dedicated activity for participants’ favorite parks.

As voting came to a close, Veteran’s Memorial Park in Moore, Oklahoma, a park that had recently endured the impact of a devastating tornado, emerged as one of the frontrunners. Contest participants from all corners of the country selflessly rallied behind this park, prioritizing it over their own local interests.

In November, the collective dedication of 83,000 workouts and the burning of an astounding fourteen million calories culminated in a significant milestone: twelve shovels breaking ground, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the park.
