OVERVIEW

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) is one of the world’s largest hotel companies, with a portfolio of more than 5,000 hotels in nearly 100 countries. IHG’s digital experience team wanted to create a unique brand experience for the redesign of the Holiday Inn Express website, and sought the expertise of Possible, a digital agency with a proven track record in design and branding. The goal was to create a website that adhered to the new digital style guide while pushing the creative boundaries to produce a memorable user experience.

As a designer on the project, I provided initial design concepts that utilized the new style guide, while also ensuring that the design felt distinct from IHG’s other brands. To achieve this, I focused on the specific role of each component to determine the best UX and UI. Some explorations included Holiday Inn Express’s booking tool, finding different ways to organize the form fields. I also explored components on the hotel detail page, such as hotel information and navigation, where I created new icons to represent the hotel’s amenities.

Created at Possible Worldwide (now known as Wunderman Thompson Seattle).
